September 1982

Motivated by their craze for sailing ships three Mauritian friends along with craftsmen launch Historic Marine.

1983

Tourists get acquainted to our ship models. Our workforce attains the figure of 35. The quality of our products gains acceptance throughout the Island.

1984

Historic Marine already employs 70 workers
and our product ranges to 20 different models.
Our reputation crosses the ocean to extend to Europe.

1985 – 1986

This period of transition enables Historic Marine to define its marketing strategy:
It launches a training school within the organization, and each worker is encouraged to work on ¨"his" model from start to finish.

It storms the European market.

1987

Historic Marine now employs more than a hundred workers, reaches the production target of 1200 ship models annually. This year also marks the beginning of a ¨BOOM¨ period for us.

1988 – 1990

Historic Marine undergoes diversification:
- It offers a complete range of ¨marine furniture¨ to its customers.
- As a freight forwarder it despatches its models to all
destinations in the world

1991 – 2005

We have now reached our cruising speed with an
annual production of 2000. The King
of Sweden, the Duke and the Duchess of York, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, President François Mitterrand, Yves Montant, Patricia Kaas, Phil Collins, Jean-Pierre Papin rank among our clients…
