La Hacienda is situated in the region of Old Grand Port and Lion Mountain which represents one of the last remaining un-spoilt refuges on the island.
The property is surrounded by luxuriant native forests, offering guests a truly ecological experience and overlooks the first port established on the island by Dutch colonisers in 1598. It also overlooks the place where the famous sea battle between the French and British took place in 1810.
Each of the four bungalows has been built with an effort to respect the local environment.
La Hacienda offers guests an opportunity to escape from the noise and stresses of modern life and city-living and each bungalow offers privacy and intimacy to its guests. Guests are free to use herbs grown on their window ledge and pick fruits in the garden for their consumption.
The smaller bungalows (Hare, Day Gecko and Butterfly), can each accommodate 2 persons and the larger one (Pink Pigeon), can accommodate 4 persons. For an additional person, the sofa bed can be used.
Breakfast is displayed in a basket and delivered directly to the room.
Currently, La Hacienda does not offer lunch or dinner. As the bungalows are self contained, guests can buy their groceries from the nearby supermarkets and prepare their meals or they can also experience the local cuisine in restaurants found in Mahebourg and Blue Bay.
