The Maniglier Foundation is an institution focussed on welfare. Imagination, reality and conception tend to blend into this rich historical background. Victoria 1840 is an old sugar cane factory classified as part of the Mauritian heritage. It houses the Maniglier Foundation, its restaurant Le Café des Arts, its Contemporary Arts Museum, the Maniglier Workshop and a swimming pool in the ruins.

French painter on the show at the United States Stolliard gallery in Cannes, Maniglier met Matisse in 1950. Seduced by the young and talented painter, Matisse invited her to his workshop in Cimiez and gave her some precious advice for more than a year. Remain who you are at any cost. There is a way in you, feel it and let it lead you to your truth. She will be the last private student of this great painter.

After a short stay in Rome, she started long studies at the Michel Angelo San Marco academy where Master Primo Conti taught her Classic Art. Maniglier entered then the Academy of Beaux-Arts in Stuttgart where Manfred Henninger put her on the way to Lyrique abstraction.

Maniglier exposes in the most prestigious international galleries such as Parker New York. In 1995, she received the silver medal from the Society of Encouragement to Progress, herself being member of the French Academy. The major laureates are les Frères Lumières - Marcel Pagnol - Paul Emile Victor - the Concorde plane and the Pasteur Institute.

The Foundation is alive and works like a theatre, the cuisine is a subtle alchemy blending harmoniously flavours, colours and scents - in a word, a contemporary cuisine.
