In summer, from November to April, the temperature of the sea varies from 26 to 29oC; and 3 mm shorty wetsuits is all you need. In winter, from May to October, when the sea temperature is between 23 and 25oC, a 5mm long sleeves wetsuit is most welcomed . At this period one can see humpback whales; visibility being of above 20 meters.

A modern hyperbaric chamber for up to six persons is now available in a newly built annex to the Victoria Hospital in Quatre-Bornes, central region of Mauritius. It should be noted that hospital fees in Mauritius are payable for all non-residents. This also applies to the decompression chamber. A payment in cash or by credit card is required after care. Currently, each session in the decompression chamber is charged at Rs 10,000. A receipt will be provided so that you can arrange with your insurance. |
