The Labourdonnais domain is an agricultural venture in the tradition of the great land holdings of the country. This estate, which is found in Mapou, has been one of the most innovative project of its time.

The Chateau de Labourdonnais is found in the heart of this splendid domain. This elegant colonial house, which dates back 150 years, has been finely restored to regain its original splendor.

Open to the public since October 2010, the Château de Labourdonnais offers a unique and enchanting voyage in nineteenth century Mauritius. Through a specially designed tour that stimulates all the senses, visitors are invited to explore the lifestyle of the colonial era and the rhythm of life of sugar plantations

With its architecture and its treasures of fauna and flora, this site is now one of the finest jewels of the Mauritian heritage.
