Le Château de Labourdonnais

As a recent activity of the domain, La Rhumerie des Mascareignes forms part of the visit. One has to know that the Labourdonnais domain is an agricultural estate that cultivates sugar cane since 150 years. If the sugar factory was closed in 1960, sugarcane production has however been maintained.

The visit of the distillery includes the discovery of the distillation columns, tanks and techniques for aging rum. Totems provide external information on the manufacture of that greatly appreciated alcohol. Organized visits on request can also be available. A La Rhumerie des Mascareignes rum is labeled under two brands,  Rhumeur  and La Bourdonnais.
